Tokyo

Once a small fishing village named Edo, Tokyo became politically prominent as the home base of the Tokugawa Shogunate. When emperor Meiji moved to Edo in 1869, it became the prominent capital of the country and was renamed to Tokyo, meaning eastern capital. In the modern era, Tokyo is one of the largest urban economies and one of the most populated cities in the world. It is the right mix of culture and progress that will leave you with something to do all the time. There is always something new to explore each time you visit this city.

I was lucky enough to be given the chance to experience life in Tokyo for a year. In this gallery, I try to showcase, not just the main tourist spots of the city, but also some local secrets and daily life. From the world’s crowded pedestrian crossing of Shibuya, to the giant Gundam statue of Odaiba, scroll through the different districts and enjoy the sights that make this city one of the best ones in the world!
